Race Ramps Portable Pit Stop Ramp and Rack Ramps
Awarded 2008 SEMA Global Media Award |
 |
November 18, 2008: Brute Industries, Inc., the manufacturer of Race Ramps, has announced that it was awarded SEMA Global Media Awards at the 2008 SEMA Show. The awards honored new Race Ramp products; the Portable Pit Stop Ramp and the 5” Rack Ramps -for their innovative design, ease of use, and solutions based functionality |
|
The SEMA Global Media Award is judged by international journalists from 25 countries. The voting panel reviewed over 2,000 new style and performance products that were introduced at this year’s show. From these, the journalists selected 10 products that would be of most interest to their publications’ readers and most likely succeed commercially in their respective countries. |
| “We are very honored that our latest product innovations have been so well received by journalists from around the world”, says Richard Heinz, President of Brute Industries. “We continually strive to develop new products that provide solutions to problems experienced by automotive enthusiasts, racers, and service providers.” The Portable Pit Stop Ramp is an example of how Race Ramps’ unique technology is used to provide an easy, safe, and practical solution for accessing the underside of a vehicle. |
 |
|
Rack Ramps use this construction technique to form a product that safely provides low ground clearance vehicles access to a service platform or lift without damaging the front end. “We are pleased that our solutions have impressed the international automotive journalist community, and we were chosen from 2,000 competitors to receive these awards” adds Heinz. |

ABOUT BRUTE INDUSTRIES, INC.
“Show us a problem, and we’ll find a solution”
In 2004 Rich Heinz invented Race Ramps to solve a real problem.
Problem:
Rich’s friend had a 2003 C5 Corvette Z06, and he couldn’t drive his vehicle up onto standard car ramps without grinding the spoiler.
Cause:
The ramp approach angle was just too steep, and the car’s nose got jammed into the ramps.
Solution:
Rich had a revolutionary idea:
- Invent car ramps with a decreased approach angle so a vehicle with low ground clearance could make it up the ramps without interference.
- Make the ramps broad to handle wide tires.
- Design the ramps to be virtually indestructible, as well as extremely lightweight and portable by using a super lightweight 100% solid construction technique.
- Create ramps that would not slide on smooth surfaces.
Rich discovered that using this construction technique provided the ramps with a wide and flat footprint that prevented them from sliding across garage floors, digging into asphalt driveways, or scratching or otherwise damaging cement or painted floors. Further, they could safely be used on grass, sand, or almost any other flat surface. Lightweight materials made the ramps very portable and easy to handle. Also, they would never rust. Rich tested the strength of his invention by driving an eight thousand pound Ford F250 onto the ramps. Success! Not only did Rich’s friend have a solution to his problem, but Rich had a great new product on his hands - Race Ramps. In 2005, Rich and his wife Jane Heinz formed Brute Industries and started commercial production of Race Ramps. Our company was awarded its first patent in 2006, and there are more in the works.
Growing as a customer driven company
Race Ramps continues to grow as a customer driven company - finding unique solutions to customer problems. “Show us a problem, and we’ll find a solution” is our company philosophy. New challenges are addressed by offering new products to compliment and expand upon original Race Ramp designs. Such as XTenders, which are supplemental ramps developed to mate to the 56” and 67” Race Ramps and decrease the angle of approach from 10.75 degrees to 6.8 degrees. New challenges are also met by using Brute Industries super lightweight 100% solid construction technology to develop new product concepts, such as Flatstoppers™, which help keep tires from flat spotting during long periods of storage.
Solutions for other industries
Race Ramp technology is also used to create solutions for other industries. For example, our construction technology is used to make large ramp displays for a major auto manufacturer to exhibit vehicles on the showroom floor. The auto manufacturer’s original design was constructed of metal and wood, and required two men two days to put together. Our new, lightweight, and sturdy ramp base is delivered in twelve modular pieces and assembles in thirty minutes.
Another example is our design for Lockheed Martin. The company contacted us to provide a solution for a potential problem they were facing with the Orion Project, which is the upcoming space travel vehicle that is to replace the Space Shuttle. They described that the Command Module of the craft was intended to land in water upon its return to the earth, and if it touched down on land it did not have a way to stabilize itself while the astronauts were extricated. In solution, Brute Industries is working with Lockheed Martin to develop a portable Command Module stabilization unit using our patented super lightweight 100% solid construction. |

RAMPING IT UP WITH NEW PRODUCTS.
ORLANDO, FL - Tired of loading an expensive, exotic vehicle into a trailer using lumber to get it in? Got a low car that’s a pain getting it up? RACE RAMPS are the solution – using patented technology, they’re solid – strong, extremely lightweight with a textured surface that won’t slide or damage the floor, and they work best with low-profile vehicles.
At the 2007 Performance Racing Industry Show, a Michigan manufacturer Brute Industries, Inc., is displaying 7 new RACE RAMP products:
• TRAILER RAMPS – 3 sizes (TR-5; TR-6; TR-8) Just place your trailer door on the ramp notch to decrease your angle of approach and get your car up without any damage. Three inclines and lengths to select the best model for your needs. Sold in a set of two, either 14” or 16” wide.
• TRAX-JAX - 2 styles (TJ-S; TJ) Raise that low ground clearance car 3” high with portable jack assist ramps. At less than 10 pounds per set, a width of 12” and 30” length, these babies even fit in the trunk of a C5 or C6 Corvette! Sold in a set of two, with or without a 1” wheel stop.
• XTENDERS – 2 sizes (EX-12; EX-14) Used in conjunction with either 56” or XT RACE RAMPS, easily nesting on top to lengthen the approach angle for even lower vehicles. 6.88 degree incline. Sold in a set of two.
• RACK RAMPS – (RACK-4) Rising 4” with only a 9 degree incline, technicians can now move lowered vehicles onto the service platform without front end damage – a dream come true! At only 6 pounds per ramp, RACK RAMPS are easy to transport and store, includes a convenient carrying handle. Sold in a set of two, a great addition to any garage.
• 8” or 10” WHEEL CRIBS – 2 sizes (WC-8; WC-10) A safe, simple, lightweight alternative to jack stands. Lined up in seconds once the car is jacked up, the WHEEL CRIB will cradle your tires 8” or 10” off the ground providing unobstructed access to the undercarriage. Each Crib weighs only 5 pounds! Sold in a set of two.
• SCALE RAMPS – (RR-SC) At 14” wide and rising two-and-a-half inches, SCALE RAMPS provide access to most any type of racing scale. Weighing less than 3 pounds per ramp , SCALE RAMPS are a great alternative to more costly factory ramps. Sold in a set of four.• WHEEL STANDS – (WS-14) With a 16” square footprint and 14” in height WHEEL STANDS will accommodate scales, a turntable, or use as a display block. Race Ramp Roll-Ups Receive SEMA 2006 International New Product Award
Race Ramps RollUps, manufactured by Brute Industries of Michigan, were awarded a SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) International New Product Award during the 2006 SEMA Show. Esteemed media experts from throughout the world viewed over 1,000 new products before voting on which items they felt would sell best in their home countries. " I was very pleased that the panel of international judges thought our RollUps to be worthy of distinction, "stated Richard Heinz, president of Brute Industries. "We are constantly working to assist and please our customers with innovative new products," he said.
While at the SEMA Show, Benjamin Benton, vice-president of research and development at Brute Industries, announced the upcoming release of two new products manufactured with the same groundbreaking technologies as the RollUps: Trailer Ramps and Ramp Extenders. "Trailer Ramps will be available in standard sizes or they can be custom made to fit any customers specific needs," explained Benton. "The Ramp Extenders, " he continued, "will bring the incline on 56" and XT Race Ramps down to six degrees for the very low ground clearance vehicle." These Race Ramp products, like the RollUps, FlatStoppers, and Show Ramps, have been developed through requests from existing customers. "If what we offer does not quite meet a customers needs," said Benton, "we encourage them to send us a drawing or give us a call. We are happy to talk with them and provide a quote. By combining our capabilities and their needs, we have been regularly inventing new products."
While in Las Vegas, Brute Industries donated a pair of 56" Race Ramps and a set of FlatStoppers to an auction benefiting the SEMA Young Executives Network and the SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund. Through this fund, the automotive aftermarket industry invests in its future by assisting students who are pursuing a career in the automotive industry. "With the recent cold weather, seasonal vehicle storage is on the rise. Our FlatStoppers have been flying off the shelves, so we were happy to provide this high-demand product to benefit the SEMA Scholarship Fund," said Heinz.

Brute Industries has been granted a United States patent (7,114,210) for their one-of-a-kind Race Ramps.
Constructed with space shuttle foam technology, Race Ramps are made with one solid piece of high-density polystyrene and a hybrid polyurea coating. They are practically indestructible while also being extremely lightweight. A pair of 56 inch ramps can hold up to 2,400 pounds while weighing only 10 pounds per ramp, amazing considering their size! Specially made for use with wide tires and/or low ground clearance cars, the standard 56inch Race Ramps (with a 10.78 degree incline) will raise a car up eight inches and accommodate tires up to ten inches wide. The 67 inch Race Ramp XTs (with a 10.69 degree incline) will raise a car up ten inches and accommodate tires up to twelve inches wide.
Because of their unique construction, Race Ramp products will not slide across a garage floor, dig into an asphalt driveway, or scratch or otherwise damage a cement or painted floor. They can be used on grass, gravel, or almost any other flat surface, plus they will never rust. The larger products come complete with straps for easy carrying and storage.
After initially producing only Race Ramps, Brute Industries now also manufactures RollUps (can be used with Race Ramps to lift the opposite end of the car up 4.75 inches or as jack-assist ramps), FlatStoppers (keep tires from flat spotting during long periods of storage), and Show Ramps (a safe, easy way to raise a car 4.75 inches for display). Like other Race Ramp products, each of these are lightweight, durable, and handmade in the USA. |
