How should I care for my Race Ramps?
First, always follow the weight capacity guidelines – see the bottom of your ramp for its capacity, but for most Race Ramps it is 1,500 lbs. per ramp (or per tire). Second, when using your ramps on a hard surface such as cement or asphalt, sweep the area first (rocks and debris can cause the ramps to slide and may cause permanent denting or pitting on the underside). Third, make sure you center your tires on the ramp and don’t overshoot the end: portions of the ramp may be crushed if you drive over the front or side edges. Fourth, always keep your ramps in temperatures below 150° Fahrenheit (65.56° Celsius), which means don’t leave them in direct sunlight for an extended period of time or in your trunk on a 100-degree day. Fifth, don’t use wood, metal, or other materials with our ramps.

What are Race Ramps made of?
All of our ramps are 100% solid, made with a high-density expanded polystyrene that is coated with a hybrid polyurea. This patented process results in a product that is extremely lightweight, yet strong and durable. (Learn more about this on an episode of the History Channel’s show Modern Marvels.) The ramps will not slide, scratch, or otherwise damage any floor type. They even work on ice!
Where are your products made?
All of our products – ramp or otherwise – are made with American materials in America. Almost all products are made by hand at our headquarters in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
My ramps have a slight tire impression after use. Is this normal?
Yes. The initial use may leave a slight impression (up to 1/8″) on the surface of the ramp. This is caused by the vehicle tire weight settling the inner core of the ramps and does not affect the strength of the ramp.
How do I clean my ramps?
You can easily wash your ramps a scrub brush, soap, and water. If you’re on the road, spray WD-40 on and wipe it off with a clean rag.
Can I use my ramps outdoors?
Race Ramps can be used indoors or outdoors as long as the surface temperature of the ramps does not exceed 150° Fahrenheit (65.56° Celsius). When using Race Ramps outside, avoid exposing them to direct sunlight for a long period of time. In very hot climates, do not store them outside or in the trunk of your car.
Do I have to worry about getting automotive fluids on my ramps?
Race Ramps are impervious to most automotive fluids. However, some fluids may leave a stain on the surface.
Can I use my ramps to bridge a gap?
No. Race Ramps are designed for use on a flat surface. Their weight capacities are only safe when the entire bottom of the ramp is supported by solid ground.
Can I buy a 1500 pound capacity ramp with a 2500 pound capacity instead?
We can make most products Heavy Duty (HD), with some limitations. There is a slight up-charge for making the ramps HD. Call us if you are interested in ordering an HD version of one of our ramps!
Is the price for a pair of ramps?
All of our trailer ramps and most service ramps ship in pairs. Flatstoppers ship in sets of four. Some of our products allow you to choose a quantity, such as Pro-Stops and Wheel Chocks. With other products, like Mirrors, Rocks, Mats and Race Chocks, pricing is for a quantity of one.
I have a vehicle with three wheels. Can I order just three ramps instead of two pairs?
Yes. If you call our offices, you can place an order for 1.5 sets of ramps, which would be a quantity of three ramps to accommodate your vehicle.
